Replacement UPVC Door Handles
Find the perfect handle for your door, whether replacing your existing handles or adding extra security. These handles made of upvc are easy to install and will meet the 92mm minimum central distance for multipoint locks.
The backplate's fixing centre as well as the lever/keyhole dimensions are the most important measurements. Compare these measurements to your existing measurements prior to making a purchase.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad door handles consist of a lever handle on one side and a paddle shaped handle on the other. These are designed to be used with key wind locks, however they can also be used to multipoint split spindle door locks (though you will need a separate dual spindle lock case).
Once you have selected the appropriate handle for the doors the finishes will be displayed in the drop-down menu. Not all styles of handles are available in every finish though and it is recommended to check the technical drawings and sizes sections for the specific product that you are looking to ensure that you are getting the correct size and fitting.
It is important to ensure that when you choose a new set of Upvc lever pad handles, they match the PZ (distance from the handle spindle to the middle of the hole in the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because the handles need to be aligned in order for the doors to stay locked, no matter if you're viewing them from the inside or outside. The handles we offer are designed to work with a variety of standard cylinder locks, but it is advisable to double-check before purchasing.
If you wish to upgrade to dual spindle levers you'll need to take out the existing handles and take apart the lock case. This will require an additional split cylinder inline. These can be bought separately and we have an entire technical diagram for you to examine in the images for each product.

It is a good thing to loosen the screws holding the door handle you have and then check the mechanism. If the screws aren't loose enough it is possible to loosen them more. Then, you can remove the spindle from the door handle and replace it with a new upvc handle. It is important to ensure that the handle is in the right position prior to fixing it. You can do this by placing your finger between the frame of the door and the handle, to ensure that it's in the right position.
Lever/Lever
The lever handles for doors are used to operate a multi-point lock that uses the Euro cylinder. They can be found on a variety of double upvc doors, as well as on some wooden and aluminium doors. They come in two varieties, with the lever inside and a paddle outside. Sprung - These include a spring cassette installed within the backplate that helps bring the handle lever to the horizontal position. Non-sprung - they do not have a spring mechanism, and must be manually pulled to raise the handle lever back to its horizontal position.
To fix a sagging door handle lever it is necessary to locate the hole or pin that is the detent access point. It's usually an insignificant hole or protruding ring, or rectangle, found on the handle base plate. Once you have located it, loosen the set screw with a screwdriver and remove it to allow the lever, allowing it to return to its horizontal position.
Once the handle is in a horizontal position you can re-install the screws and tighten them to make sure the handle remains secure on the base plate. You may want to apply a threadlocking solution to the threads of the screw to increase grip and stop them from loosening over time.
There are a myriad of reasons that door handles for levers droop. The most common reason is that the fixings are too tight, causing the lever bearing to get tangled up against the door. It could also be due to the fact that the levers are not being operated at a straight angle and this is causing compression of the latch mechanism preventing it from fully springing back into action.
Another reason is that the sprung lever isn't operating correctly and this is usually due to the sprung not being in the right position within the backplate. To check if the handle returns to horizontal, simply operate it.
It is crucial to repair any door handles that are damaged as soon as possible. This can cause excessive wear on the screws, and the handle may even fall off the base plate. It is also a good idea to tighten all screws that are loose regularly in order to prevent them from becoming loose.
Lever/Snib
These upvc door handles are also referred to as handle sets with a 'Snib' and have a snib lever towards the top of the lever that you can press down to lock your door if you don't have the dummy lock. They are usually fitted with a Fullex 68PZ (that's 68mm between the spindle's centre and the lever or lock centre) door lock. We also carry a selection of other 68PZ door handles from manufacturers such as Ferco and Fab & Fix.
The replacement of your door handle is a cheap method to upgrade your home, whether you're replacing existing handles or fitting new ones to doors you've constructed in your home. There are many styles of door handles made of upvc, including traditional lever on backplates, straight or curved short latches and dummy knob handles for multi point locks, which are ideal for French doors.
Lever on backplate handles are usually rectangular, but there are also oval or circular-shaped models that are referred to as rose door handles. These kinds of door handles are equipped with a lever or knob on a backplate that sits behind the lever or knob and is often referred to as a rosette, although certain back plates can be detached for concealed fixing.
There is a variety of chrome and coloured finishes available for these handles that enhance your door and hardware, including hinges, knobs and bolts. Some handles come with grub screws, which help firmly attach the knob or lever to the spindle. Some handles come with bathroom spindles that can be used for bathroom locks. They also have a thumbturn release mechanism and can be used on doors for bathrooms.
Mortise
The tubular latch is most likely to be the cause of this in the event that your door handle is slammed shut. This can be caused by a number of things, but the most common is the lack of lubrication on the latch plate. This can be corrected easily by opening the door and spraying lubricant on the handle and lock. Alternatively, it could be that the latch plate has been dislodged from the backplate. This could be more problematic and requires a professional to fix.
A multipoint door handle is a great solution to the problem of a sticking door handle. The handles are inserted into the faceplate of the door and are operated with an actuated thumb turn knob or key which activates an electronic cam that locks the deadbolt. The handles come in a variety of sizes to suit different kinds of uPVC doors and are available in a variety of attractive finishes that are compatible with existing hardware. These handles are available via the internet or at the local locksmith. They are easy to install and come with clear directions.
If you want to replace the handle set, you will be required to determine the PZ dimension of the cylinder. This is the measurement in millimetres between the inner edge of the door frame and the center of the hole in the handle. You will also need to know if your door has a hook style lock or a mortise-style lock. Once you know these measurements, the simplest method to determine the right handles is to filter by brand option on the website. This will help narrow down your options and then you can select the appropriate size.
A typical handle set comprises an arm with two screws of various lengths, drill guides and installation instructions. Smart versions, like the Igloohome Smart Mortise 2+ include a mortice lock with keypad. These are more sophisticated models that are best designed for professionals or highly skilled DIYers. Some handle sets come with various accessories, like weather strips, which can be used to enhance appearance of the door.
